Piano Nights is a Het Concertgebouw in-house concept that places the piano center stage in an atmospherically lit Grote Zaal. Each edition pairs two pianists who present their own solo sets and also play shared repertoire, with conversation from the stage about their musical choices. For this edition, New York–based pianist-composer Eric Christian brings lyrical, narrative works influenced by the Romantic-classical tradition, while Georgian pianist Nino Gvetadze performs beloved pieces from the classical canon. The 90-minute concert runs without intermission; a drink is included before and after, and the hall uses low lighting with stroboscopic effects noted for this event.
