Alice Sara Ott joins the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Roberto González‑Monjas for a programme that travels from Vienna to Rome. In the first half, Ott plays Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58 — a revolutionary work whose intimate, almost philosophical slow movement astonished early listeners. After the interval, the orchestra paints the soundscapes of Respighi’s Roman Trilogy with Fontane di Roma and Pini di Roma: glittering fountains, wind‑swept pines and jubilant crowds, including the sunrise procession along the Via Appia. The 15 November matinee is part of the Concertgebouw’s Sunday Matinee series; all three dates belong to the choice series of the Netherlands Philharmonic & Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
