Amsterdam Klezmer Band celebrates its 30th anniversary with a festive concert in the Kleine Zaal of Het Concertgebouw. For three decades their mission has been simple: to celebrate life with as many different people as possible through music. Without drawing lines between genre, style, origin, religion or politics, they forge a lively mix of klezmer, Balkan, jazz, Middle Eastern sounds and a touch of hip-hop. Founded in 1996 on the streets of Amsterdam, the band has grown into a beloved act at festivals and concert halls throughout Europe. With roots in both street culture and the conservatory, the six-piece ensemble presents itself as virtuosic musical omnivores, blending Jewish klezmer traditions, Eastern European folk, the Balkan scene, ska, jazz, Middle Eastern and Latin styles, and hip-hop into a festive idiom of their own. The anniversary evening on 14 October 2026 is part of the ‘Global’ series (Own Programming) and runs 2 hours 20 minutes without intermission.
