About this event

Het Concertgebouw’s Young Dutch Artists series presents the solo-recital debut of pianist Thijs Willers (b. 2006), first-prize winner of the 2023 Prinses Christina Concours and laureate of the Matangi Quartet Prize. In the intimate Recital Hall, young musicians share repertoire close to their hearts. Willers’s program features Mendelssohn’s Variations sérieuses, Beethoven’s “Appassionata,” Scriabin’s Sonata-Fantasy No. 2, and Brahms’s Three Intermezzi—juxtaposing high-Romantic drama with late-Romantic poetry. The concert includes an intermission and runs from 20:15 to 21:50. Presented by Het Concertgebouw (in-house programming) with support from Fonds Hemelbestormers.
