Het Concertgebouw presents a solo recital by American jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran in the intimate Kleine Zaal. For over two decades, Moran has been one of the most compelling voices in contemporary jazz, both solo and with his trio The Bandwagon and on his Blue Note recordings. Since 2010, he has served as Artistic Director of Jazz at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., continually pushing the boundaries of live jazz. The program is deliberately stripped back: one pianist, one grand piano, one hall — with no intermission. The Kleine Zaal’s clear, close acoustic and roughly 450 seats support the uninterrupted, contemplative arc of Moran’s solo work and his preference for direct audience interaction.
