PHI PSI – Everyday Scenes of a Galaxy opens the "Opera Oggi" strand of Teatro Goldoni’s 2026/2027 season, in collaboration with the Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno. Framed as a "meditative opera", it is not a traditional melodrama but a continuously evolving soundscape of contemplative, introspective sonorities, tailored to the intimate La Goldonetta hall. The title explores the symbolic meanings of two Greek letters: phi (φ), linked to the golden ratio and the perceptual "phi phenomenon" of apparent motion between static images; and psi (ψ), evoking soul, vital breath, and—by analogy—the hidden mechanisms of evolution and genetic mutation through a reference to pseudogenes. The two performances (Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026, 6 pm) continue Teatro Goldoni’s commitment to contemporary creation and to young talents from the local community.
