About this event
Pop vs. Classical is a one-hour educational concert in the Müpa Secrets Live series for school groups aged 10–16, presented in the Glass Hall at Müpa Budapest. Pianist-composer Krisztián Oláh leads a small hybrid ensemble that pairs classical instruments (violin/viola, flute/saxophone) with contemporary beatbox and drums alongside vocals. Presenter Sára Banai guides the Hungarian-language narrative and fosters interactive exchange with the audience. The concept explores how popular and classical music have influenced each other across history. Everyday encounters with classical themes—bank hold music, door buzzers, mobile ringtones, school bells—become entry points to examine why certain pieces became iconic and how they live on in popular culture.
