Talking Tom Waits – Words and Music is a concert/reading produced by Fondazione Teatro Carlo Coccia di Novara for the 26/27 “Aperitivo in... Musica” series, scheduled on Sunday 11 October 2026 at 11:30 in the Piccolo Coccia hall. The show looks beyond Tom Waits’s famously rough sound, diving into the smoky atmosphere of American clubs to reveal the hidden heart and deep humanity of his music. Selected songs, translated and reimagined, invite the audience to lose themselves in a world that is as ramshackle as it is romantic. Before the concert, Gianni Lucini offers an introductory “History of Jazz.” On stage: Paolo Agrati (voice and adaptations), Luca Butturini (guitar), Alberto Pirovano (double bass), and Diego Patron (percussion) — a quartet refined through years of touring under the title “Talking Tom Waits - Paolo Agrati & The Chinese Cuban Jazz Extravaganza.”
