About this event
This program is part of the OFGC’s 2026/27 season, the final campaign under British conductor Karel Mark Chichon as Principal and Artistic Director before his July 2027 farewell. The concert spotlights the return of mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča for two pillars of the vocal-symphonic repertoire: Richard Strauss’s Four Last Songs and the complete ballet score of Manuel de Falla’s The Three-Cornered Hat. Marking the 150th anniversary of Falla’s birth (1876–2026), the orchestra states this is its first performance of the complete Three-Cornered Hat. The evening opens with Cindy McTee’s Timepiece in its Spanish premiere.
