About this event

“Slatkin conducts Schubert and Prokofiev” is part of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra’s 26/27 subscription series (concert C6). Leonard Slatkin, the orchestra’s Principal Guest Conductor, leads the resident ensemble at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The concert sits within the symphonic subscription curated by Music Director Karel Mark Chichon. The program pairs Schubert’s Rosamunde Overture (D. 644) and Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished” (D. 759) with Sergei Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 (Op. 100). Founded in 1969 and organized as a Canary Islands foundation under the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the OFGC presents this event as part of its ongoing collaborations with leading guest conductors.
