De Italiaanse Cello is a baroque music programme by Holland Baroque for the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam 2026, centred on world premieres of solo cello concertos that have never been printed, performed, or recorded. The source material comes from the castle archives of Count Johann Philipp Franz von Schönborn, whose collection contains over a hundred cello sonatas and concertos. The rediscovered works by Platti, Brescianello, and Antoniotto are paired with the familiar repertoire of Antonio Vivaldi, notably his Concerto for two cellos in G minor, to present these composers as Vivaldi’s contemporaries. The concert takes place in the Grote Zaal of the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ and lasts one hour. Soloists are Bruno Cocset and Amarilis Dueñas, with artistic leadership shared by Judith and Tineke Steenbrink from the keyboard/harp.
