Incontro con l'opera is a pre-opera lecture series organized by the Friends of La Fenice that, a few days before new productions, offers audiences historical and dramaturgical insights. The session on 6 October 2026 in the Sale Apollinee is devoted to Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Telephone and Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti. Led by musicologist Roberto Calabretto, the talk prepares audiences for La Fenice’s production at Teatro Goldoni running 9–14 October 2026. Admission is free. The lecture explores the contexts, themes, and musical languages of these two one-act operas to enhance understanding and enjoyment.
