Directed by Jérémie Lippmann, this production fuses a baroque framework with a contemporary aesthetic to probe social vanity and the hunger for status. The stage is conceived as an arena—a carousel of appearances—shifting through Jacques Gabel’s scenography to mirror Monsieur Jourdain’s growing blindness. Period costumes by Jean‑Daniel Vuillermoz and wigs by Catherine Saint‑Sever intensify the play of deception. Tamara Fernando’s choreography blends classical and contemporary movement, with hip hop elements performed by Taylor Chateau and Julien Boclé. David Parienti’s score merges Lully’s baroque foundations with modern sounds, bridging 1670 and today. Lighting by Jean‑Pascal Pracht supports the evolving scenic concept. Comic energy is shared across the ensemble rather than resting on star power alone. An accessibility device, “Souffleurs d’images,” is available in partnership with Les Souffleurs de sens.
