In Opéra Grand Avignon’s Aper’Opéra format, soprano Laetitia Volcey, winner of the 2025 Voix des Outre-mer Prize, presents “Heroines: from the stage to the intimate.” Over one hour, the program traces female figures from Mozart to Britten, moving between operatic heroines and the confidences of art song. The voice explores brilliance, fragility, and interiority. The 5:30 pm concert is followed by a convivial meet-and-greet with the artists. A native of Réunion Island, Volcey embodies a new generation of lyric artists combining musical rigor, cultural diversity, and artistic commitment. She is accompanied on piano by Edward Liddall, a pianist and vocal coach trained at the Royal College of Music, winner of the 2015 Maureen Lehane Accompanist Prize, and former pianist-in-residence at the Paris Opera Academy.
