MUSE/IQUE: AMERICAN SOUND TAKES FLIGHT is an immersive concert experience conceived and curated by Artistic and Music Director Rachael Worby. It explores what defines the sound of American music by blending performance with storytelling and cultural context in MUSE/IQUE’s narrative-driven format. The program traces how Aaron Copland, drawing on folk, jazz, and popular idioms, forged an identifiably American sound that celebrated everyday people. From this foundation, the evening follows a living lineage through artists like Leonard Bernstein, Paul Simon, and Rhiannon Giddens. Each selection is framed with commentary and history to invite both intellectual and emotional engagement. Presented in partnership with The Wallis and Classical California, the production is part of MUSE/IQUE’s 2026 season, “Exploring the American Heart.” Admission options include member RSVP and single-admission tickets.
