About this event

The Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie ignites under the baton of Ana Maria Patiño-Osorio. Born in Colombia in 1995, she won a prize at the prestigious Malko Competition in Copenhagen in 2024 and serves as first assistant conductor at the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Her energetic baton promises an intense reading. At her side, Australian prodigy Christian Li—the youngest-ever winner of the Menuhin Competition in 2018 at the age of ten—performs Brahms’s Violin Concerto. His luminous virtuosity and expressive maturity give voice to the German master’s tormented lyricism. The orchestra then plunges into Ginastera’s Argentina with Estancia, a vibrant tableau of popular dances, before blazing with Stravinsky’s Firebird. This ballet music, with its sparkling orchestral magic, unfolds its primal energy toward a fiery apotheosis. Three works, three worlds: the journey promises ardor and dazzlement.
