With “At the Heart of the Orchestra,” the audience is invited to sit directly on stage among the musicians and feel the music from within. The shimmer of the strings, the breath of the winds, the strike of the percussion—everything is perceived differently up close. Framed by lighting design from Mathieu Cabanes, the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie led by Roderick Cox offers a truly immersive experience at the orchestra’s pulsating core. The program features excerpts from Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, Op. 100. The concert runs about one hour with no intermission, is open to ages 4 and up, and is offered at a single price of €23.
