The Pirates Of Penzance – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis

Annapolis Opera launches its 2026–2027 season with Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance at Maryland Hall in Annapolis, Maryland. The new staging is led by conductor Craig Kier and director Stephanie Havey, with Bradley Boatright as assistant director. The creative team features scenic design by Steven C. Kemp; lighting design and production management by Chris Brusberg; wigs and makeup by Priscilla Bruce; wardrobe supervision by Sharlene Clinton; and properties by Jessica Yost. Stage management is headed by production stage manager Ashley Pollard with assistant stage managers Mel Mader and Liliana Cudly. Musical preparation is overseen by principal coach and pianist Pei‑Hsuan Lin and chorus master JoAnn Kulesza. Performed in English with English supertitles, the production plays two performances in late October and early November 2026 at Maryland Hall, complemented by pre-performance talks by Nicole Steinberg, Ph.D., and a post-show artist talkback on November 1.
