About this event

The 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic present a globe-spanning dance program: from Romantic Dvořák and Fauré’s Pavane to Purcell’s Baroque Suite and Adams’s minimalist Shaker Loops, via Broadway’s “Tea for Two” and three tangos by Piazzolla. Original works written for the ensemble by Stephan Koncz and Marijn Simons frame the evening. Two dancers join the cellists and translate the music into choreography on stage—part of the Cologne Philharmonie’s “In Motion” series exploring the common pulse of music and dance.
