About this event

The program, titled "musiche di FRANCESCO BUZZURRO," consists entirely of original compositions by the performer. The fourteen pieces cover a range of styles that reflect Buzzurro’s dual background in classical and jazz guitar: works such as Naxos, Terra, Blue, and Onde conjure Mediterranean and atmospheric soundscapes, while Tango Del Sur and Latinus draw on Latin American rhythms. TakiTaki and ElRayo add contemporary, energetic elements, and Song For Django pays tribute to the gypsy jazz tradition of Django Reinhardt. L’ottavo Nano, The Right Choice, Pat, Tagar, and Reflections round out the program with idiomatic guitar writing that crosses genre boundaries. The concert is structured as a solo guitar recital with no additional performers, and is presented in two historic venues in the Trapani area — Chiesa di Sant’Alberto in Trapani and Teatro Gebel Hamed in Erice — within the Mema Mediterranean Music Association’s concert season and the EricèNatale Christmas series in Erice.
