This concert is part of ADDA Simfònica Alicante’s 2026–2027 symphonic season, themed “Naturaleza, Vida & Amor.” The program unites three works bound by dance and rhythmic vitality under the title “La Danza.” The visiting ensemble is the Czech Philharmonic, Gramophone’s Orchestra of the Year 2024, led by Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov. The evening opens with orchestral excerpts from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, followed by Richard Strauss’s Burleske with Japanese pianist Mao Fujita as soloist. It concludes with Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, the composer’s final work. Recent Czech Philharmonic highlights include a three-day Carnegie Hall residency for the Czech Music Year 2024 and a BBC Music Magazine Orchestral Award (2025) for their Ma vlast. Bychkov’s 2026/27 season focuses on his core repertoire and Czech masters, while Mao Fujita, a Sony Classical artist and laureate of the Tchaikovsky Competition, brings his acclaimed virtuosity to Strauss’s brilliant concertante score.
