About this event

This performance is part of Music Worcester's "The Complete Bach" project, an 11-year initiative (Fall 2024–Spring 2035) to present all of J.S. Bach's known works. Each season includes events across multiple venues and formats, with the October BACHtoberfest Weekend serving as a focused festival of Bach performances. On Sunday, October 25, day three of the festival, the First Unitarian Church integrates a Bach cantata into its regular Music Sunday worship service, placing the music in its original sacred-liturgical context. The First Unitarian Church Choir, directed by Dr. Allegra Martin, performs BWV 111 in the church's acoustically resonant sanctuary. Unlike ticketed concerts in the series, this service is free and open to the public, with registration requested for planning.
