The center is Schoenberg’s “Verklärte Nacht,” inspired by Richard Dehmel’s poem about a couple in a moonlit forest and an act of forgiveness that transforms the night. The journey concludes with Haydn’s Symphony No. 6 “Le Matin,” whose slow introduction paints a sunrise and features prominent solos spotlighting the orchestra’s players.
