Ehrbar Saal’s children’s concerts invite the youngest listeners—and their families—into a fairy-tale, interactive world with sing-alongs and a riddle competition. Since last spring, the series has been inseparable from its mascot, the “EhrBaer” (performed by Branimir Agovic), who guides the audience and already has a devoted fanbase. Artistic director Cathrin Chytil curates the classical music selections. The series is explicitly not just for children: recommended for ages 4 to 100+, it aims to delight “big kids” as well with humor and informative storytelling. This edition focuses on the horn: horn player and narrator Hermann Ebner teams up with the EhrBaer to explore the instrument’s history. Cathrin Chytil is responsible for text, voice, concept, and idea. Supported by Vienna’s 4th District, admission is free, but a numbered ticket (Zählkarte) via Eventjet is required.
