Rebekka Kricheldorf’s play is presented at Theater am Alten Markt in Bielefeld, directed by Murat Yeginer, with set and video design by Mikhail Zaikanov, costumes by Matea Scharmann, lighting by Mario Turco, and dramaturgy by Ralph Blase. The staging premiered on 29 November 2025 under the title Bondi Beach and was renamed Baga Beach by the author in December 2025 out of respect for the victims of the antisemitic attack on 14 December 2025 at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. Intendant Nadja Loschky states that the play has no connection to the attack; the beach is only mentioned in a few lines and is neither the setting nor a driver of the plot. Zaikanov’s set and video work has been praised for its inventiveness, and Scharmann’s costumes have been widely commended. The production plays on the TAM Stage at Theater am Alten Markt in central Bielefeld. The play is published by Kiepenheuer Medien for a cast of two women and three men. Its world premiere took place on 7 October 2023 at Stadttheater Ingolstadt.
