This program presents Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in G major in Klaus Simon’s chamber-orchestra transcription, performed by the newly re-founded ensemble I Solisti della Filarmonica. Simon’s arrangement reduces Mahler’s original forces to chamber scale while preserving the score’s structure and expressive detail—ideal for the intimate acoustics of Teatro Argentina. Soprano Désirée Giove appears in the fourth movement, singing “Das himmlische Leben” from Des Knaben Wunderhorn. The arrangement retains the original vocal line, redistributing the orchestral texture among fewer players. On the podium is Italian-Russian conductor Sieva Borzak, Conductor in Residence of Roma Tre Orchestra since 2021, a 2024 Malko Competition semifinalist and guest of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra—marking a new collaboration with Accademia Filarmonica Romana and its chamber ensemble.
