The “Valentino Bucchi Prize — Final” is the concluding concert of the 45th International Composition Competition “Premio Valentino Bucchi,” one of Italy’s longest-running composition awards, founded in 1975. The event is part of the “Le Collaborazioni” strand within the Accademia Filarmonica Romana’s 205th season (2026–2027), curated by Artistic Director Domenico Turi under the presidency of Paolo Baratta, in collaboration with the Fondazione Valentino Bucchi led by Francesco Telli. The 45th edition focuses on chamber music for three to five acoustic instruments chosen from flute (also piccolo/alto flute), clarinet (also E-flat/bass clarinet), piano, violin, and cello, aiming to enrich the contemporary repertoire and encourage idiomatic writing. The final concert, held in Sala Casella, presents the finalists’ works to the public, followed by the jury’s deliberation and the prize announcements; in previous years the event has also been streamed on the Accademia Filarmonica Romana’s YouTube channel.
