Le Sacre Du Printemps - House – Opéra Nouvel de Lyon, Lyon

About this event

This double-bill dance evening unites two powerful choreographic voices. The program opens with Sharon Eyal's House, a hypnotic piece originally created in 2011 and set to the music of Ori Lichtik. Existing between rigor and emotion and bridging ballet with electro, the piece is designed to electrify the auditorium with its incantatory vibration. The evening culminates with Mats Ek's interpretation of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du printemps. Ek, known for his unique and theatrical style, channels the telluric energy of Stravinsky's score in an exceptional version re-created for the Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon. The Opéra's orchestra performs live in large formation, shaping an evening characterized as an uprising.
