Oper Für Kinder: Die Unbedingten Dinge – Oper Frankfurt, Frankfurt am Main

About this event

This production is presented in Oper Frankfurt’s Holzfoyer, an intimate space well suited to children’s opera. It is a new work by Janko Hanushevsky and Eva Pöpplein, adapted from Nikola Huppertz’s book of the same name, and part of the “Oper für Kinder” series introducing young audiences to opera. Recommended for ages 6 and up. The creative team frames the piece as a reflection on what truly matters in life, using a futuristic setting (the year 2071) to give some distance from the present and help children engage with big existential questions. Staging in the compact Holzfoyer suggests a close, direct theatrical experience prioritizing audience engagement over spectacle. Morning performances target school groups while afternoon shows serve families, reflecting a dual‑audience approach. The production is supported by Commerzbank. Advance ticket sales begin on 15 August 2026; kindergarten groups and school classes register via jetzt@buehnen-frankfurt.de.
