About this event

A participatory family workshop by Opéra de Dijon (Season 26/27) focused on the art of Chinese shadow theatre, inspired by Gioachino Rossini’s La Cenerentola. Families cross the threshold of the opera house to discover the performing arts through hands-on creative activities. The session highlights the many crafts and professions that bring an opera to life, with tips and insights shared by invited artists. Designed for families with children aged 6–12, the workshop offers creative exploration (visual arts, dance, music), backstage visits, and artist encounters, directly tied to the season’s productions. The “Chinese shadows” theme explores shadow puppetry and silhouette storytelling connected to the world of La Cenerentola.
