Rated 14+, the production flags physical violence and violence against women and offers 30‑minute introductions before all performances except the premiere. Lucia Birzer prepares the chorus, and Marie Julius serves as dramaturg; Antonia Crames and Tomas Stitilis handle assistant direction and stage management. The staging reads the famous tenor hit “La donna è mobile” as a cynical code for failure, foregrounding cycles of misogyny and revenge. Theater Regensburg was named “Best Opera House” at the Oper! Awards 2026. Performed in Italian with German surtitles.
