La Chute des Anges is a nouveau cirque work by Raphaëlle Boitel blending circus, dance, and theatre into a dystopian fable that reimagines Plato’s cave. In a machine-governed future, human figures move like marionettes seized by robotic arms. Using both ground and aerial apparatus, the piece probes risk, surrender, and the dizzying leap of emancipation. Boitel’s signature chiaroscuro and Tristan Baudoin’s scenography and lights craft a sealed, sunless world, pierced when a rebellious figure opens a breach towards another possibility. Original music sustains the tension between technological control and the human urge for freedom. Suitable for audiences aged 8 and up, it marries high-level physical performance with poetic imagery to stage what Boitel calls “the resistance of the sensitive” — keeping hope alive in the night.
