Sing Along – Opernhaus, Stuttgart

About this event

“Sing along” is a participatory concert conceived as part of the inaugural 2026/27 season of General Music Director Nicholas Carter at Staatsoper Stuttgart. The event invites audience members to actively join in rehearsing and singing celebrated opera choruses, rather than passively listening. Carter leads the event from the podium, focusing on communal music-making: attendees learn and perform famous choruses from the operatic repertoire with professional musical direction. No prior singing experience or musical knowledge is required, making the event accessible to a broad public beyond regular opera audiences. Alan Hamilton accompanies on piano. A specific example from the program is “Va, pensiero” from Verdi’s Nabucco, one of the most widely recognized choral pieces in the opera canon. The event is scheduled as a one-hour special concert within the Staatsorchester Stuttgart’s 2026/27 season.
