“Die Abenteurerin / Der Abenteurer” is the thematic umbrella of the Dresden Philharmonic’s 2026/27 season—a concert series exploring the spirit of adventure in music through three distinct symphonic programs. The title uses both feminine and masculine forms to signal an inclusive approach to musical discovery. The program “Runnicles with Bruckner” features Chief Conductor Sir Donald Runnicles leading a Bruckner symphony paired with a Beethoven piano concerto performed by the acclaimed pianist Emanuel Ax. All concerts take place at the Kulturpalast (Concert Hall) in Dresden, with a pre-concert talk one hour before each performance.
