About this event

Laurent Pelly created a timeless, amusing production that turned Donizetti’s heart-warming opera into a reference staging. Act I unfolds against an oversized, multi-folded map of Tyrol, rendering an imposing mountain landscape, while Act II moves to a stylized salon that invites playful slapstick interludes. The production debuted in 2007 as a co-production of the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and London’s Royal Opera House.
