About this event

The “2nd Symphony Concert – Sibelius Five” by the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra (2026/27 season) focuses on three Scandinavian national composers: Edvard Grieg, Carl Nielsen, and Jean Sibelius. The title highlights Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5, and the season brochure describes the program as a “fascinating sonic journey to the North.” Performances take place at the Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal, renowned for its acoustics and architecture. A free pre-concert talk by Prof. Dr. Lutz-Werner Hesse is offered about 30 minutes before each concert (Sun 10:30, Mon 18:45). Discounts (50%) apply for children, students up to 27, and apprentices; remaining tickets are available 10 minutes before the concert for €8 for pupils/students. Each concert ticket includes free VRR public transport on the day of the event.
