About this event
For its 34th regular concert, the Osaka Bach Choir presents J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor, BWV 232, conducted by Honorary Conductor Jürgen Wolf. Former Music Director of Leipzig’s Nikolaikirche and an accomplished organist, Wolf brings deep knowledge of the Leipzig Bach tradition. The solo quartet features Minami Matsubara (soprano), Hisako Yagi (alto), Yoshifumi Hata (tenor and the choir’s Music Director), and Nobuhiro Shinobe (bass). The Saxon Chamber Orchestra from Germany provides the orchestral forces. This Japan–Germany collaboration aims for a historically informed approach grounded in the Central European Bach tradition.
