4211 km is a contemporary theatre work written and directed by Aïla Navidi. The play follows the Farhadi family's journey of exile: Mina and Fereydoun flee Iran in the early 1980s to escape the Islamic Republic and seek refuge in France, traveling the 4,211 kilometers between Tehran and Paris. Their daughter Yalda, born in Paris, recounts the family's exile, their fight for freedom, their love for the homeland they left behind, and the hope of an impossible return. Woven across different eras with a modular set design, the piece explores identity, displacement, and emancipation through a powerful story of transmission performed by six actors.
