About this event

Part of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s 2026–27 season at Symphony Hall, this afternoon concert pairs two landmarks of the orchestral repertoire: Brahms’s powerful First Piano Concerto and Sibelius’s luminous Fifth Symphony. Thomas Dausgaard conducts, bringing his noted affinity for Sibelius’s sound world, and British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is the soloist in the Brahms. A pre-concert talk with Thomas Dausgaard is planned ahead of the 2:15pm performance, with details to follow.
