A new Royal Danish Theatre production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita comes to the Main Stage of Copenhagen’s Opera House in a fresh Danish translation by Helle Hansen. The title role is shared by Sara Viktoria Bjerregaard and Cecilie Stenspil, with Che, Juan Peron, and Agustin Magaldi leading a large company and the Royal Danish Orchestra conducted by Joakim Hallin. Directed by Niclas Bendixen with set design by Benjamin la Cour, lighting by Ulrik Gad, choreography by Signe Fabricius, costumes by Anja Vang Kragh, and sound by Tim Hoyer, the staging spans Eva Peron’s ascent with visuals ranging from humble attire to Dior-inspired glamour. Performed in Danish, the production features Danish surtitles for songs and English surtitles for both dialogue and songs, and runs 11 November–20 December 2026 (preview 14 November; premiere 15 November).
