About this event
Part of Ibermúsica’s Serie Arriaga (A2) in the 2026–2027 season, this concert features the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Edward Gardner. Marking the 150th anniversary of Pablo Casals’s birth, and supported by the Pau Casals Foundation, the evening opens with the Prelude from Casals’s El oratorio del pesebre. Julia Fischer (violin) and Daniel Müller‑Schott (cello) join for Brahms’s Double Concerto, the composer’s final orchestral work. The concert concludes with Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5, renowned for its swan‑inspired finale. Presented at Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional de Música, the event forms part of the LPO’s Spain tour in October 2026.
