About this event
This concert pairs two space-themed audiovisual works performed live by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra against specially created films on a big screen. The first half features Eric Whitacre’s Deep Field, his symphonic response to the Hubble Space Telescope’s iconic image, shown alongside the film Deep Field: The Impossible Magnitude of Our Universe. The second half presents the world premiere live concert performance of Anne Nikitin’s original soundtrack for Lightroom’s acclaimed immersive documentary The Moonwalkers, in a specially curated concert edition featuring original NASA footage, Andy Saunders’ Apollo Remastered images, and pre-recorded narration by Tom Hanks. Conducted by Anthony Gabriele, the concert also features soprano soloists Grace Davidson and Dessislava Stefanova.
