About this event

This “beyond the walls” cultural mediation event by Opéra de Lausanne takes place at the Collection de l’Art Brut as part of the 2026–27 season. Conceived as a dual-voice guided tour, it places the supernatural themes of Britten’s The Turn of the Screw in dialogue with the museum’s spiritualist and mediumistic artworks. The tour is co-led by Opéra dramaturg Catherine Ailloud-Nicolas and museum mediator Eleanor Philippoz, who connect the opera’s narrative of hauntings and the afterlife with self-taught artists’ creations shaped by spiritualist beliefs and séances. Coinciding with the museum’s 50th anniversary in 2026 and the exhibition “Art Brut in Switzerland – From the Origins of the Collection to Today” (28 Feb – 27 Sep 2026), the event offers an interdisciplinary context for audiences ahead of the mainstage production at Opéra de Lausanne.
