About this event

This production of Puccini’s Tosca is a grand, immersive staging by David McVicar. It transports audiences to three picturesque locations in Rome, serving as the backdrop for the dramatic thriller. The opera features a story of a jealous diva, an ardent painter, and a villainous chief of police. The production is noted for its searing passion and edge-of-your-seat action, with a career-defining title role. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Principal Guest Conductor Daniele Rustioni are scheduled to take the podium. The production was a gift of Jacqueline Desmarais, in memory of Paul G. Desmarais Sr, The Paiko Foundation, and Dr. Elena Prokupets, in memory of her late husband, Rudy Prokupets. Major funding was provided by Rolex, and the revival is a gift of C. Graham Berwind, III and Viking.
