About this event

This Sunday morning "Carte Blanche" concert of the Bern Symphony Orchestra gives the 2025 Eduard Tschumi Prize winner, pianist Ekaterina Karpova, full artistic freedom to curate the program. The prize, awarded annually by the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), recognizes top Master graduates and offers the soloist laureate a season appearance with the BSO, supported by the Bürgi‑Willert Foundation. Karpova places two major chamber works with prominent piano roles at the center: Beethoven’s "Ghost" Trio and Franck’s Piano Quintet. The trio (piano, violin, cello) and the quintet (piano and string quartet) shape an intimate, color‑rich program. The 11:00 matinee in the Burgerratssaal at Casino Bern highlights the chamber character of the series.
