Eternal Sun is a double bill based on two novels by Swiss author Charles Ferdinand Ramuz: Fall into the Sun and Village in the Sky. Written around a century ago and only recently published in German for the first time, these texts are woven by director Tilmann Kohler into a new evening for the stage. Ramuz, born in Lausanne and repeatedly considered for the Nobel Prize in Literature, remains little known in the German-speaking world. The set is designed by Károly Risz, costumes by Susanne Uhl; Matthias Krieg composes original music for this Bern staging, with dramaturgy by Felicitas Zürcher. A 30‑minute introduction is offered before many performances, providing background and insights into the production. Schauspiel-Apéro #3 on 7 October 2026 in the Stadttheater foyer offers a free, informal introduction ahead of the premiere.
