Nik Bärtsch’s Ronin – Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg

About this event

“Spin” is the ninth release by the working band Ronin since its founding in 2001. This production marks a premiere with their new bassist Jeremias Keller, who joined in 2020, performing alongside founding members Nik Bärtsch and drummer Kaspar Rast, and wind player Sha, a member since 2004. Since the 2018 album “Awase” (ECM), the band has continuously evolved its repertoire through weekly Monday concerts at their own club Exile in Zurich, reaching their 1000th Monday concert in January 2024. The performance presents the authentic Ronin spirit, focusing entirely on the music and its community. The concert follows the traditional idea of performing a complete album as a cohesive dramaturgy and program, refined through years of live performance. The music is rooted in handcrafted groove quality—the band’s core credo since its inception.
