With a broad and highly personal palette of contemporary jazz, the musicians of the NDR Bigband bring their “Self-Portraits in many Colours” to the resonanzraum in the bunker on Feldstraße. The NDR Bigband is, more than almost any other large ensemble, a big band of soloists—creativity and inventiveness are essential. And like few other large ensembles, the NDR Bigband’s musicians are also asked to enrich the band’s portfolio with their own compositions. A new mini-series now continues what was begun—at resonanzraum, home to Hamburg’s Ensemble Resonanz in the high-rise bunker on Feldstraße. “We are very much looking forward to playing at this venue,” says manager Michael Dreyer, “not least because we will also work together more often with our hosts at Ensemble Resonanz in the future.”
