About this event

A modern tale about self-confidence, boundaries, and growing up: director Brigitte Dethier, awarded the German Theatre Prize Der FAUST for lifetime achievement in 2025, brings her extensive experience in theatre for young audiences. The production is based on the stage version Rose with Thorns by British playwright Charles Way, known for lively dialogue and humorous yet profound plays for young people. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Musical direction by Torsten Kindermann. Set and costumes by Caroline Mittler; both previously collaborated with Dethier on The Town Musicians at Schauspiel Essen. Supported by GENO BANK ESSEN and the Friends of Theater und Philharmonie Essen e. V.
