This chamber music production is uniquely centered around the theme of female friendship and artistic contribution, highlighting both women performers and women composers. The performance takes place in the historic Baroque refectory of The Professed House, a building originally constructed for the Society of Jesus between 1674 and 1691 in Prague's Lesser Town. The acoustic and architectural setting of the Baroque refectory provides an intimate and historically rich backdrop for the contemporary and 20th-century wind repertoire. The artistic vision deliberately bridges Czech and British musical heritage. It pairs the world premiere of a contemporary Czech piece with works by British-Czech composer Geraldine Mucha (daughter-in-law of the famous painter Alfons Mucha) and the renowned British composer Edward Elgar. This programming choice not only champions female voices in classical music but also creates a cross-cultural narrative that appeals to diverse audiences in Prague.
